Overview

As part of the Supply Chain transformation, the Supply Chain department are running several RFQs (direct procurement) in order to create our own Price Book. This role provides the opportunity to carry out negotiations, complex bids, strategic sourcing and to manage multiple RFPs / RFQs. This will include supplier management, quarterly price reviews – dependent largely on raw material costs, contract management, continuous improvement of equipment and service and monthly performance reviews. The Buyer will interact mainly with national suppliers but also international suppliers and internal stakeholders. The role will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be based in Madagascar.

Role&Responsibilities

As a Buyer, you will be:
• Managing local and international suppliers,
• Identifying potential new suppliers in order to challenge the incumbent suppliers
• Carrying out negotiations with suppliers
• Managing orders, and the entire P2P (procurement to payment) process
• Reporting on monthly cost savings at group and local levels
• Identifying continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers and coordinate implementation into production
• Managing and coordinating supplier reviews on monthly/quarterly basis

Requirements for the Roles

To succeed in the role, you will be/will have:
• Educated to degree level in Procurement or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in process or performance engineering
• Operational experience of working in Africa or emerging markets
• Large exposure to direct procurement
• MCIPS
• Experience working in a large organization/public listed organization
• Fluency in French and English
• Willingness to travel due to business needs
